It’s been another busy week.

I have been overseeing decorating.  Sister has helped.  BOL.

Cards are coming in for the Scottie Fridge

as well as wonderful gifts from our friends.

These are from our Patricia Bonnel and Sir Achille, our friends in Belgium. The ornaments, personalized shopping bag, and Christmas card have Swarovski crystals on them and were made by Gaby Jans, Patricia’s friend.

Penny and the Count sent us an ornament, card and towel from Australia.  Very cool.

Finally Mom found a topper for the Charlie Brown Christmas tree; it is actually is an ornament she bought at Pier One.  Once again the ugliest Christmas tree has blossomed into a beauty.

Our hearts were saddened this week when we learned of Easy’s sudden departure for the Rainbow Bridge.  We’re sure you would have liked our Thanksgiving turkey, Easy.  That’s Dad and our cousins.

Wow, it has been busy since we have returned from Wisconsin: birthday, dr. appointments, dentist appointments, yard work, blah, blah,blah.  I have loved playing with my birthday hedge hog.

Fall is finally here.  The weather is cool enough to have ballgames in the yard again.

Chicken chews are our important treats; we love when we get them.

Sister likes to look at Christmas Catalogs pointing out what she would like to see in her sock

and begging Mom for cookies.

Of course, we take naps everyday too.

Squirrels have been frolicking in the oak trees around our yard.  I have to be on constant alert.

Of course, there was Halloween.

Upon returning home from Wisconsin, we started itching and scratching.  It made us miserable and the pawrents too.  The vet thought seasonal allergies: oak mites, Bermuda grass, they don’t know.

Dad sprayed us with Listerene.  He uses that on his horses for bites/infection and we have been taking 1/2 of Benedryl.  We are still itching but not as bad.

Mom gave us chicken chews to get our mind off it.  I like to hide mine. ~ Indy

So much has happened in a week: Buddy Holly revisited, old friends, new friends, old sights, new sights; it has been a grand one.  Yesterday we drove up the eastern side of the island to check out some areas we have never seen but first we stopped at Pet Expressions to say HI to Verna.

We took a scenic drive to Rowley’s Bay.  Rowley’s was once a prosperous logging area with a sawmill, post office and small hotel.  A resort is still there.  The area offers unspoiled wilderness for nature lovers.  The first French missionary came ashore here in 1686 and here we are 330 years later.

 We stopped at Door County Bakery, a favorite in Sister Bay.  It is the home of the Corsica loaf, a one of a kind bread found only there.  Delish!

Last night we had a full moon.

The heat has finally left us.  We are having cool mornings and mild afternoons; it is FALL.  Dad had a list of chores this week and ; of course, I supervised.

We got a fantastic box of chews in the mail from our friends in Australia.

Dad bought Mom a huge pumpkin.

So we have just been hanging out:  playing, watching, guarding, napping…you know, the usual.  Have a fab fall weekend. ~ Indy and Lucy

We lost our pal Guinness this week to Cushings, an endocrine disorder which usually strikes older dogs.  RIP, pretty brindle boy.

Munchkin, one of our friends in Australia, introduced us to her favorite treat.   5 stars, for sure!  Mom has promised to get us some more.

I relaxed under the air conditioner all week because the heat index was 105.  No way, I was going out.

Mom played with Prisma, of course.

It’s been a busy week.  Dad went to see Grandpapa in Tulsa twice.  Mom had to go to the chiropractor in Tulsa once.  We had some rain that we sorely needed.  Blah, Blah, blah!  Mom played with Prisma some more.

We had a little rain this week.  It was so needed; our trees and grass were turning brown from lack of it and  no sprinkler could revive them.  Of course, Dad had just washed the car.  BOL!

We told some old stories, taunted the cat, took some naps:  the usual Scottie stuff.

This is a map of the state of Oklahoma.  You can see the location of the earthquake in relation to where we live in Henryetta.  It was about 107 miles north and west of us.

At first we felt a slight shaking.  Mom said it was like a washing machine going out of whack during the spin cycle and vibrating the floor.  Then it really started shaking and rattling the dishes in the shelves.  The news said it was a 5.6 and felt all the way from Texas to Missouri.  We took cover.

We are ok and there are no cracks in our walls or anything.  That’s our week in review.  Have a good weekend everybody. ~ Indy and Lucy
