This is our new thing when people ask about us: a networking card. It’s kinda like a business card but we’re not one…a business, that is. We think of it as a fun and inexpensive invite to find out more about us. Like it?

It’s front and back in two of Mom’s favorite colors. She stores them in this:

We hope she remembers to give them to people when they ask. Have a joyful Sunday. ~ Indy and Lucy

The summer heat might be restricting our outdoor fun but inside we are having a great time. Mom rotated the toys so it’s like Christmas again.

Plus she bought some new ones that make delightful noises: Shark, Mr. Bill, Flea, Woody Woodpecker….
We received a couple from our friend, Kim Siegfried too. We started off the week with a spa day and now sport new shorter dos for summer.

Mom decided where the picture that Penny and the Count’s folks brought us from Australia should go. Penny’s mom took a picture of us to Bali and had it painted on canvas there. It has been secured under the glass top of our coffee table instead of the wall. We love it there.

Finally, the garden is blooming with lilies, roses, coneflowers, lantana, and hummingbird mint and tomatoes. 🙂 Don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers. ~ Indy and Lucy

Last summer I loved trying to bite the sprinkler too.

The temperatures have been in the triple digits this week and the humidity almost as high. We experienced a power outage yesterday which left 4800 homes without electricity for a couple of hours in our sweltering 101 degree heat. Mom hooked up the sprinkler and I had a grand time. Sister doesn’t care to get wet. Everything was going good until I had to be dried off; I don’t especially like the wrapped up in a towel drying off part. Keep being cool. ~ Indy

We are glad you enjoyed our adventure. Here are some extra pics Mom found on her camera.

This is Dad carrying Lucy and me on my leash as we walk the parade route.

This is a pic of Sister published in the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

This was front page upon our arrival. It is from last year’s parade. Duffy, son of Cyndi Bender, is lead Scot, followed by Cindy Fredericks and Maggie, and Colleen Lambrecht, middle back. It is such a cool picture but cool it is not now that we are back home. Here is our temps this week.

We are staying indoors for the most part playing with our toys, taking naps, getting petted, having treats …life is good. ~ Indy and Lucy

This is a video of the Door County Scottie Rally Parade. We are about 0.26, right after the pipers and the banner. Dad is wearing a purple shirt. Lucy decided she wanted Dad to carry her. Mom caught a ride on the golf cart. Enjoy ~ Indy and Lucy

When our last Door day came, we headed south to Peru, IL. where Ainsley and George were hosting a pool party at the Ainsley Institute. Uncle Bob and Aunt Judy were there too.

Ainsley showed me her favorite look out post while Sister said hi to the kitties.

Oh and we had CAKE…..

The next day we headed to Springfield, MO for an overnight at the Drury making it an easy drive home the next day. Drury is a great place to stay if you have pets. We got the royal treatment.

Once home, Mark and Wendy stayed a couple of days before heading to Dallas.

Then we went to Dallas to see them off for their trip back to Australia.

There was always something to see out our hotel windows.

A stop at the Three Dog Bakery is a must too.

We also paid Diane, DD and Duff a quick visit. Then it was time to go home. We have enjoyed taking you on our adventure. XO ~ Indy and Lucy

Every year we visit Anderson Dock in Ephraim. There has been a dock here since 1858 when Norwegian immigrants constructed the first one to aid in exporting local products such as cedar and salted fish.

Mom loves to takes pictures here because the old warehouse now the Hardy Gallery is such a colorful backdrop.

This fall Indy and Lucy will be among the names you see. See how snoopy we are.

We like to take one day and drive around the peninsula, go to our favorite places, check for changes, here a sniff, there a sniff. In looking for the place we are going to rent this fall, we stumbled on this.

Love the barn quilt patterns but often the barns are too far from the road to photograph without a telephoto lens. Remember, Mom only has an IPhone.

Mom and Dad took another boat ride around the Fish Creek area and Peninsula State Park.

Eagle Bluff Lighthouse… one of the 11 in Door County that have saved countless lives and guided ships to safety.

The limestone cliffs and caves of Peninsula Park are part of the Niagara Escarpment, a geological formation most famous as the cliff over which the Niagara River plunges at Niagara Falls, for which it is named. Cottage Row, exclusive Fish Creek realty, could be viewed on the way back to harbor. Often called Millionaire’s Row, this strip of shore side has been one of Door County’s most preferred addresses for the past 100 years when Chicago leading tycoons, magnates, and robber barons left their grand mansions on Prairie Avenue and established equally elaborate ones for summer on the shores of Green Bay.

Sunset viewing always gathers a crowd in Door County. This one is from the Shallows Resort in Egg Harbor.

Hope you have enjoyed a day in Door with us. ~ Indy and Lucy

We arrived later than usual because of the GPS incident; you remember? Not having eaten on the road, the peeps were starving. There was a place up the street from our cottage that Mom wanted to try. It was perfect: reubens, cheeseburgers and sweet potato fries. In fact, they ate there several times during our stay. It was a cozy, kick back sort of place.
The Blue Horse Café is a great place for breakfast or lunch and right out our front door. It’s got a view of the bay inside and outdoor PET FRIENDLY dining. Menu includes breakfast and lunch sandwiches as well as bakery items and gourmet coffees. Dad loves the ‘Meatzilla’ and Mom’s fave is the bacon cheddar biscuit. Jalapeno biscuits were a hit this year too.

The White Gull Inn, also in Fish Creek, is known for its famous cherry stuffed French toast. Mom and Dad had a few breakfasts there as well as lunch with friends.

Fish Creek is listed by Forbes as one of the 15 prettiest towns in America. This historic B&B contributes to it.
This year a new restaurant, LURE, opened in Sister Bay which is a little over 8 miles up Hwy 42 from our home base in Fish Creek. Seafood is its specialty and the peeps met Lesley and Bill Connor from Pennsylvania and the Australians, Mark and Wendy, for dinner on its opening night. Naturally, the oysters made it a must for Mom but Lesley’s whitefish almondine looked so good Mom made a return visit to order it. She went to a fish boil (very popular in Door) our first year here and got an unfavorable impression of the whitefish. Now thanks to the culinary expertise at the Lure, she’s a fan.
The owners of the LURE are also responsible for another of the peeps’ favorites, the CHOP. They ate there several times but don’t have a picture. However, word is that the carrot cake is the best you can get. Thumps up if you got them to everything on the menu, Mom said, plus they got to see Elli Lapolla, part owner and waitress extraordinaire. Door County is truly about family businesses. There were a couple of pet friendly places we didn’t get to this year: the DC Deli in Baileys Harbor, Coyote Roadhouse on Kangaroo Lake and the Harbor Grille in Baileys Harbor only once. There are still many places to try and others to revisit. Mom is making her list for fall.
