Every Scottie owner seems to be on the lookout for anything that pertains to Scotties when they go shopping.  Our Mom loves outdoor Scottie things.

She got this a couple of years ago in Door County at Pet Expressions.  Mom always manages to find something there when we go to the Scottie rally.  We have another one mounted on top of the garden shed in the back.  They ship too. 🙂  Dad likes that option.

These are this year’s additions from Pet Expressions.  The two black ones she had powder coated to prevent rust. The red one was shipped. Dad said no room in the car.  Goggle them.  They have cool dog stuff.

This is our door Scottie.  Legends at Hilton Head provided this one.  Lori, the owner,  has unique Scottie items; check out their FB page @Legends Sports Gallery, HHI.  You can call her and she’ll Fed Ex it right out.  Don’t forget to include some licorice Duncan Dogs (Dad’s fave) and Mom said the White Cheddar Popcorn and the Cherry Tarts are great human treats too.

This is our faux Scottie.  Actually it is a cast iron boot scrapper that the cousins got Mom for Christmas a couple of years ago.  She adores it.

There’s the moss Scot that’s still in the shed and the metal door Scots too (Mom made them into Christmas wreaths).  Lots of wonderful Scottie stuff out there. Have fun shopping and don’t forget to…

Wednesday night it rained 3 1/2 inches; it was still raining hard early Thursday morning.

Sister is not as dedicated; she leaves the patrolling primarily up to me. She just writes haikus about it.

Even with our raincoats we were soaked.  Rainfall expected to continue; then it will stop and in two weeks we will have to water our lawn.  Mom says: “That’s Oklahoma for you.” ~ Indy and Lucy

When we posted some of our baby pictures, we told you about the “scarf”.  Mom really wanted us to wear bandanas because first Scottie Sophie was never without one. Mom stumbled on another use accidently. She then began to use it as a way to keep us rowdy Scotties in line.

It still works even though Mom doesn’t use it much anymore;  it never fails to get our attention.

So these lovely scarves that Diane Lewis( thank you, Diane) made us are going to go to some other lucky Scotties because despite the fact they are so cute, this is what happens if we have to wear them.

Mom says it’s just another example of “Be Careful What You Wish For”. ~ Indy and Lucy

Two more days of rain in the forecast, Mom said. We have been getting an inch or more a day and we have yet to get the repercussions from Tropical Storm Bill.  I hope my Texas friends are ok.  Mom insists I wear my raincoat when I go out and I have to wipe my paws when I come inside.

I got some great treats in the mail yesterday from my friend Patty Brown.  She lives in California.  She loves Scotties.  Thank you again, Patty.  I promise I will share.

We are very busy around here.  It keeps raining; when it is not, Mom runs to the yard to do some work.  The humidity is like the tropics, Mom said, without a breeze from the ocean.  Dad goes to Tulsa daily for Grand PaPa who is out of the hospital by the way.  Thank you for your prayers and best wishes. I put this sign up so the bunnies would get the idea “Keep Out”.

I have been doing all I can to help.

It has been critter central since we got home.

There were three more bunnies of this size in our yard (this is our yard) this morning.  They were chasing each other and carrying on despite our reverberating auditory salvos.  Yesterday evening Mom saw the little bunny that ran over her foot.  It was too dark to take a picture but it is about the size of her fist.

Additionally there were squirrels everywhere too.  Maybe the light rain we were experiencing was refreshing everyone.

The cooler temps made it nice to play ball though.  On the down side, the hospital would not release Grand PaPa today.  His kidneys were not functioning correctly.  Maybe tomorrow (Sunday). ~ Indy and Lucy

Yep, I got a new Jolly ball.  I finally shook the other one to death.

I know it is pink but Mom already bought us a blue one of a different type.  It is one of those that has a handle.  I go through those quickly because the handle does not stand up well to my ferocious shaking.  It is good for Sister except she tends to want the ball that I have no matter what.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers about Grand PaPa.  They are still doing testing so we don’t know anything conclusive yet.

Mom has fixed me some tasty treats and I have helped her in the yard.

Yesterday a bunny ran straight over Mom’s foot.  It was faster than a road runner.  We were both stunned.  We also found a 6 inch snake skin.  It was as round Mom’s little finger.  It’s probably kin to the one Brother ate last summer.  I love that story.

I get massages in the afternoon after a hard morning’s work. Brother has been no help except if you count patrolling.  Have a good weekend. ~ Lucy

In the early hours Wednesday morning, our phone rang.  Mom says it is rarely a good thing when the phone rings at that hour and sure enough,it wasn’t.  Grand PaPa said he was having chest pains and his arm was numb.  He lives in Tulsa, 60 miles away.  Dad rushed to Tulsa to take him to the emergency room and I am sure you have guessed…he was having a heart attack.  Dad came back a little before 8 to sleep, feed the horses and then returned to Tulsa.  The heart attack was mild according to the doctors.  You have to understand though that Grand PaPa is 91; he is a WWII vet, served on the USS Colorado; a heart attack is serious business. Get Well, Grand PaPa
