We had a lovely Christmas.  Our Scottie tree although Mom used the small tree was beautiful.

2016 Scottie Tree

We are leaving most decorations up till Sissy gets home Jan. 16th.

Lucy

We can’t wait.  We also received cards from all our friends for the 2016 Scottie Fridge but for some reason Mom cannot upload the picture.  She has even tried with a new photo.  It just says xscottie fridge and it won’t show the pic.  Just one more reason to dislike Word Press as far as Mom is concerned.

Tulsa store

A friend told Mom about a new store in a city near us.  Its logo is a Scot because the owners have one.  She found a couple of cute Scottie things.

If you have any suggestions why our fridge won’t post, let us know.  Safe travels if you are celebrating tonight.  We’ll be in bed by 10…hey, it’s new years somewhere.

We have seen numbers 1-16.  #17 is outstanding.  Mom won it in an eBay auction and it is destined to become a favorite.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

#18 is much loved.  It’s a bobble head.  Soooo cute.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

We have had this next ornament for awhile.  It reminds us of a float in the Macy’s Parade and who doesn’t love a parade.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Our friends, Mary Bower, Piper and Skye sent us this ornament.  #20, they personalized it for us.  Thanks again, guys and be watching your mail.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

#21 is another auction and obviously by the same woman that made the sled.  Love it.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

This little Scottie came from an Etsy shop called ThePuffinPot.  It’s sold as a group of four in different colors.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

#23 and last on our Parade of Ornaments is a collage of ornaments past.  Thanks for being on the parade route this year.

Number 11 is a cute ornament found on Etsy from a shop called PuffinPatchWork.  Mom has purchased these over the years and they come in all shades of Scottie with bright little jackets.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

This fall we made a repeat visit to Door County and stopped in our favorite shop, Pet Expressions.  Verna always has the latest in Scottie stuff.  The web site is http://www.petexp.com.  Don’t you love this little guy with the ‘bed beard’. #12

2016 Parade of Ornaments

This one, #13, arrived this week from our friends in Australia, Ling, Sharon, Munchkin and Ruffles (RB).  It is so elegant.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Number 14 was found on ebay.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Mom really bought it for the back although she likes the vintage Scot on front.

Our friend, Lesley Connor, told us it was used as a party/table favor at the convention that year, compliments of Campbell’s Scotties.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Mom loved this the minute she saw it.  Number 15 is a  limited edition from http://www.campbellscotties.com.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

This too is from Campbell’s.  #16 is an adorable sequined Scottie.  Obviously this place is a mecca for the Scottie lover.

The first 10 days of ornaments are all new to our tree.  Some can be purchased now in stores and online;  some are vintage acquired through auctions and ebay.  We will continue till Christmas Eve when we light our tree.  We have already posted the first two but….just in case you missed it.

2016 Parade of Ornaments #1

#1 can be found at any Talbot store.  It looks like mercury and lends light to the tree.

2016 Parade of Ornaments #2

#2 can be bought on FB.  The page is Doodlebug Creations.  Kath makes great Scottie personalized gifts.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

This tiny heart of Scotties sits perfectly on the tip of a branch.  Mom saw this in an Etsy shop called WeeChookieBird.  She loves Etsy as a source of handmade items. #3

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Mom has loved #4 for years since she saw it in one of Melane Beesun’s miniature houses.  A friend told her they were sold by Christopher Banks.  She has seen one on auction several times and this year was able to get it.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Vera Bradley went all Scottie this year.  #5 is just one of the many Scottie items available wherever she is sold.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Mom can always find ornaments at http://www.campbellscotties.com.  This Fair Trade happy little Scottie is from there.  #6

2016 Parade of Ornaments

#7 is vintage and was found on Etsy.  It is sure to become a fave.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

#8 was a gift from our friends in Belgium, Patricia Bonnel and Sir Achille.  Made by Gaby Jans, it is lace like with a beautiful red Swarovski crystal bow.  Love!

2016 Parade of Ornaments

#9, what is not to love about a Scottie in a jacket?  It can also be found at http://www.campbellscotties.com.

2016 Parade of Ornaments

Dating 2007 and released by Danbury Mint, this darling one was obtained through the STLSTR auction this fall.  STLSTR auction is another great source of Scottie collectibles. #10

The White Tree Fiasco

19 Saturday Dec 2015

Mom wanted to do a white tree this year so our black Scottie ornaments would show up better.  She first bought a full size flocked one from QVC.  When she had Dad take it out of the box, white stuff was going everywhere and we were trying to eat it.  She looked at him and said: “Well, this will never do!” or words to that effect if you know what I mean.  Her next attempt was a small white tabletop tree.  It was plastic, cheap and looked  it but she decided to make do.

image

By the time she used ribbon, picks, sparkles and bows to fill it in, she decided it would look nice with our white and red painted Christmas balls.

image

This has always been one of Mom’s faves no matter the tree.

image

These ornaments were all purchased from ebay over the last few years.

image

image

Who doesn’t love snowmen and Scotties?

image

image

image

The table where the tree sits is Sister’s window spot. Mom said it is a disaster waiting to happen.  So next year it is destined to be porch tree minus the ornaments, of course.  She has already located a shiny red tub to put it in.  For this year though, we are enjoying the extra cheer.  Hoping your holidays are shiny and bright too. ~ Indy and Lucy

This is not a new ornament for 2015 but a precious one posted in honor of our friend Stuart’s crossing of the Rainbow Bridge.  It was originally purchased in memory of First Scottie, Sophie but we thought we would share it with Stuart.

image

This is such a happy shiny ornament for the Christmas tree.  It can be found at Campbell’s Scottish Terriers online.

image

We received this as a gift from Sally Fischel, Ruffian and Briar this week.  Made by folding material, it is absolutely precious.  Thanks again, Sally and to Leona Price of Saint Louis Scottish Terrier Rescue for making it.

image

Every tree need some glitz and while not a traditional Christmas color, Mom loves it.  The place ebay, buy some and share with friends.  We did.

image

The Wheatie boy that Mom longs to have is found on our tree. *kiss* Henry.  Needle felted, super cute, Etsy…

image

Little silver boy found on ebay, isn’t he darling?  Don’t go away.  There will be more plus some oldies but goodies before we finish.  Hope you had some fun. ~ Indy and Lucy

New ornaments 2015

The Parade of Ornaments was offimage

to an early start this year.  #1, the number means nothing except it was first listed, came from a card shop on Etsy filled with nostalgic holiday items, cherrysjubileecards.  Mom loves handmade.

image

She also loves Scotties and crescent moons. #2 is available on ebay in different colors.  Google Scottie Christmas ornaments. 🙂

image

#3 also found on ebay…who doesn’t love a bobblehead?  🙂

image

Mary Engelbreit (online) had several new ornaments with a beach theme this year.  Hailing in at #4, this is one of several.

image

#5 is a gift from our friends Patricia Bonnel and Sir Achille.  It is one a trio, painted by Manna Nelson, which include one for Lucy and the first Scottie, Sophie too.

image

This precious one is from Barbra Brandt.  The Scotties look like Indy and Lucy; don’t you think?

image

This is Santa’s Senior Moment…he has lost his sleigh and Scottie is helping him look.  #7, Mom identifies. BOL.

image

This cute ice skating Scottie came from our Kansas pals, Gordon and Gillis and their pawrents, Mary and Larry Lauber.  #8

Here are Indy and Lucy again at #9.  Handmade clay ornaments from an Etsy shop and a gift from Lulu Belle, her mom Judy and the rest of the Mudgett clan.

#10 was purchased at Seasonal Concepts and #11 was found online at Campbell’s Scottish terriers.  Mom says it is always a go to place for Scottie ornaments and other good Scottie things as well.

Painted by Manna Nelson, a gift from Leah McIntosh and her Mac is #12.  There is one for Lucy too.  Mom loves the gold color and the snow effect. ♥

Christmas

Those of you who already know us are quite aware of the Scottie Christmas traditions at our house: the Scottie fridge and Scottie tree.

and

IMG_2157

Our friends from Belgium, Sir Achille and Patricia Bonnel, sent us this wonderful gift last year.  It was like a star on our tree.

image

We keep it on this hanger so we can enjoy it year round.  Yesterday we got a another package from them.

image

There were three beautiful Christmas ornaments that were made by Manna Nelson.

image

They had our names on them and even a special one for first Scottie, Sophie.

We are so blessed to have such fantastic friends. ~ Indy and Lucy
