Christmas Decor

Christmas is about little things like turning the tree lights on all day long and drinking candy cane coffee or holiday tea.

image

Maybe it’s a favorite decoration like Father Christmas.

It could be a special card from a friend.

Tartan Christmas

What is Scottie and Christmas all rolled into one?

image

You guessed it, Royal Red Stewart Tartan!  Being a Scottie family we had some red tartan items, Mom bought a few more(she said it seemed the pattern was abundant this year), pulled them all together and it’s a Red Tartan Christmas for us.

image

This was a TJ Maxx Scottie last year.

image

Pier 1 had the mother load of tartan this year: pillows, wrapping paper, tree picks, ribbon…..Repeat: It’s all ON SALE NOW.  BOL.

image

A cushion covered here, a Scottie pillow there, small wreath on the walking sticks…. a touch of tartan.  We feel cozy; how about you? ~ Indy and Lucy

Christmas Tree Decor

Mom found a red tartan tree pick at Pier 1 this year to compliment our tree and other plaid Christmas décor.

image

Picks are versatile and she said they are ON SALE right now. This one was put to use as part of the tree topper, in a vase arrangement and to add dimension to the tree.

The burlap poinsettias…..she said these had her name on them.  What color is your Christmas.  Obviously ours is red tartan. ~ Indy and Lucy

Scottie Shopping

image

Remember when Mom brought this great yard art back from Pet Expressions in Door County, WI.  We now know the origin.

image

We cannot say enough good things about this place. The store helps to raise money for a rescue and senior dog sanctuary in Minnesota.  A non profit rescue, owner Tracy Lundahl and her family facilitate numbers of dogs to their ‘furever homes.’  Senior dogs are allowed to live the remainder of their lives with loving care and comfort on the Lundahl’s farm.  So you ask where we found this…..ETSY.  You know how Mom likes this sort of thing.

image

If you need a gift or something for your garden, you will love this store.  Not only do they have great dog sculptures but cat and bird too.  Mom loves this WOOF garden stake.

image

We are sure we will be seeing this one soon in Oklahoma.

image

There are several pet memorial garden stakes from which to choose.  If you do not want it to age naturally, then you can always have it powder coated.  All breeds are available.  So many cute things…take a look ~ Indy and Lucy

Christmas Ornaments

Continued…..

image

#13 is actually a ceramic disc that Mom repurposed as an ornament.  She found it on Etsy and we love it because it reminds of our friends, Ruffles and Munchkin.

image

#14 is also a hand-painted ornament from an Etsy artist.  It says Happy Holidays along with holly berries on the back.  What a great keepsake for yourself or a friend.

imageamoodswing from ebay created this special ornament (#15).  Mom has purchased many from her over the years.  Some of the proceeds go to Seattle Scottie and Westie Rescue and that is always a good thing.  Mom  likes that the bow gives it an extra dimension.

image

#16 is from the same Etsy shop as #1: cherrysjubileecards.  Mom loves the classic Scottie Christmas card recycled like this.

image

#17 is just as happy ornament.  Mom thinks it’s the snow which reminds her of polka dots…we don’t need to tell you again how she loves those. Really, who doesn’t love polka dots? ~ Indy and Lucy

Christmas 2015

We are dressing up for Christmas.

image

Mom is not necessarily a fan of dog dressing  but it’s hard to resist a lovely vest and a Scottie girl in a tutu.

image

Sister loves to dress up.  She wiggles, prances and works it like the pint size diva that she is.

image

I am somewhat of a reserved fellow; I will wear my vest because it is nothing more than a harness but I don’t like to put it on.  It’s not so bad after awhile but you’ll never catch me strutting around in it.

The lady that made our Halloween costumes also made these.  If you are looking for something for that special occasion, Kelly does a fantastic job.  You will find her here on Etsy. ~ Indy and Lucy

New ornaments 2015

The Parade of Ornaments was offimage

to an early start this year.  #1, the number means nothing except it was first listed, came from a card shop on Etsy filled with nostalgic holiday items, cherrysjubileecards.  Mom loves handmade.

image

She also loves Scotties and crescent moons. #2 is available on ebay in different colors.  Google Scottie Christmas ornaments. 🙂

image

#3 also found on ebay…who doesn’t love a bobblehead?  🙂

image

Mary Engelbreit (online) had several new ornaments with a beach theme this year.  Hailing in at #4, this is one of several.

image

#5 is a gift from our friends Patricia Bonnel and Sir Achille.  It is one a trio, painted by Manna Nelson, which include one for Lucy and the first Scottie, Sophie too.

image

This precious one is from Barbra Brandt.  The Scotties look like Indy and Lucy; don’t you think?

image

This is Santa’s Senior Moment…he has lost his sleigh and Scottie is helping him look.  #7, Mom identifies. BOL.

image

This cute ice skating Scottie came from our Kansas pals, Gordon and Gillis and their pawrents, Mary and Larry Lauber.  #8

image
image

Here are Indy and Lucy again at #9.  Handmade clay ornaments from an Etsy shop and a gift from Lulu Belle, her mom Judy and the rest of the Mudgett clan.

image
image

#10 was purchased at Seasonal Concepts and #11 was found online at Campbell’s Scottish terriers.  Mom says it is always a go to place for Scottie ornaments and other good Scottie things as well.

image
image

Painted by Manna Nelson, a gift from Leah McIntosh and her Mac is #12.  There is one for Lucy too.  Mom loves the gold color and the snow effect. ♥

Hope you love our parade.  There’s still more to come. ~ Indy and Lucy

Christmas Cards 2015

Our Christmas cards this year are…

not without incident.  First, the cute little magnets Mom got to put in them were too strong and causing the envelopes to stick together.  Obviously, they could not go in the mail.  Then the lovely, shiny, gold envelopes made the ink practically unreadable.  Mom said to Dad: “What the Woof (WTW)?  Is this invisible ink?  I must have medium point pens or something.”  A trip to the only store in town, Walmart, yielded a couple of gel points but Mom thought they were still too light for out of the country destinations.  So………

image

The cards purchased for local friends and relatives were used for distant lands.  They had white envelopes.  The good news is that everyone gets a calendar.  Mom didn’t run short on them. ~ Indy and Lucy

Gifts

The last few days….

the postman has been bringing us some exciting packages.

image

We received a box of toys and treats from Belgium..  Mom got a keychain and some Scottie stickers.  This is the lovely card.

imageThis is me with one of the toys. BOL.  Thank you Patricia Bonnel and Sir Achille.

image

These towels have our name and Scottie reindeer on them.  They are from Doodlebug Creations.  Kath did a fabulous job.  What a great gift.  Thanks Leah and Mac.  Did we mention there were treats? 🙂

image

Look at this darling little fellow from Claudia Grace, Stella Starlight, and Popstar.  Thank you very much.  We miss that sweet Duffy boy.

Indy and Lucy…Mom, too
