Mom’s first Scottie always wore a bandana as her signature trademark so naturally Mom wanted us to wear one too. Unfortunately, neither Sister nor I liked anything around our necks so when she put them on us we fell into a transfixed state. Mom, although disappointed, decided to work this to her advantage. As a way of corralling unruly pups, she would ask: “OK. Who wants the scarf?” All activity ceased immediately. The scarf had the ability to stop all kinds of undesirable behavior…it was magic. Here I am demonstrating the power of the scarf. ~ Indy

Indy, I think this illustrates how brilliant you & Lucy were at that tender age…you understood entire sentences, plus cause and effect! I used to pretend that I didn’t know WHAT Mama was talking about…. Outside cookie, of course.

Oh man, it looks like your mom beat you. Poor Indy, it is not nice of your mom to hurt your feelings. As Scotties will be Scotties.

The word power of the Scottie is amazing. It is a shame that they can’t learn, down, sit and come, but know the meaning of scarf.

The threat of the scarf gets us every time. Sometimes Mom doesn’t even say anything; she just opens the drawer where the scarves are kept.
