Photographing Scotties

Last year Mom wrote a blog on photographing Scotties.  If you didn’t see it and want to read it, put ‘photographing Scotties’ in the search; it will pop up.  Mom says natural light is most important and if you are outside keep the sun behind you.  Take at least 10 pictures as quick as you can and crop, crop, crop.  At least one might turn out good.  BOL.

This is #9…see what we mean.

Lucy

Somewhat better but I am a more cooperative model.  Still, she doesn’t like the dirt in bottom left and it can’t be cropped.  Always consider the background.

She takes a lot of these.

She takes photos daily for our FB page and you usually see just one of us.  Photographing two Scotties is difficult.  She likes the singular poses because they seem more natural.

You are the photographer.  Crop, keep, delete…that’s what Mom says.  Get out there and take some pictures. 🙂 ~ Indy and Lucy

Week In Review

Of course last weekend was all about Texas.  We met Scottie friends, Mark and Wendy from Australia, Sus Peterson and family from Houston and DD and Diane Lewis from Plano as well as Scotties Duff, Frankie and Billy.  We had a wonderful time at Diane’s fabulous dinner party and seeing the sights.

The rest of the week was not as exciting.  Watching Mom unpack,  wash clothes and Dad catch up the yard work,  our Scottie life returned to normal.

Dealey Plaza

While we were in Texas, we visited Dealey Plaza, the location of the assassination of President John F Kennedy on November 22, 1963.

Here is a map of the motorcade’s route.

This is Dad and our friend, Wendy Appleby, at the top of the plaza.  The motorcade would have passed by us on its way to turn onto Elm Street, location of bullets fired.

Mom and Dad went in the museum, the alleged site of the gunman on the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository .  Mom said looking at the plaza from above gave a whole new prospective than on ground level.  We sat by the fountains with Mark and Wendy.  No Dogs Allowed in the museum.

By the way, we look a long look at that picket fence too.

Dinner with Diane and DD

Duff, the host

We love to visit Duff and his pawrents, DD and Diane Lewis.

Patio at Diane and DD's

He has such a great yard.  See my tail (Indy).  Squirrel hunting.

Frankie and Billy

Our friends, Frankie and Billy ( Sus Peterson’s boys), were also intrigued by the planter.  Rumors were that a rodent of sorts lived there.

Lucy and David

Sister would not give the fetch game up so she had time out on Dad’s lap.  Mom said that no balls could be thrown because of last year’s incident.  So being the yard helper that she is, she managed to find a stick or two.

Cheeses

Cocktails were served on the patio for Scottie peeps.

The tablescape for dinner was a Diane work of art.

It was almost a shame to eat that beef bourguignon. NOT.

The party favors were incredible: baby bundts from Nothing Bundt’s Cakes, Scottie bags of popcorn, and travel blankets and pillows.

Week In Review

It has been an eventful week.  I got in some playtime before the storms began.

Indy

Then I had to stay tuned to the weather for what the forecasters called a PDS, Potentially Dangerous Situation, that never happened.  We did get a lot of rain though.

Indy

Lucy

A bug crawled in Sister’s ear and made her miserable….us too.  She had to see Dr. Pokey.

Indy

Then we drove to Texas.
