Week In Review

Was the 4th of July only Monday?  These summer days are running together.

Indy and Lucy

We have had fireworks all week…nature’s and otherwise.   Did you notice Indy’s tiny little tail and big paws on his baby pic Wednesday?  What a sweet boy.  We loved Friday’s Foto Fun with the beach pictures too;  anyone can use photo apps.  We didn’t get a picture but Mom got stung by a bumble bee that crawled underneath her t-shirt.  What a commotion that was!  Finally it’s the weekend and weekends here are for baths….  Love ya, ~ Indy and Lucy #smellinglikearose

Foto Fun Friday

Mom has been having foto app fun again.  It’s an app we have used before ( Photo Lab) but a new application.

The sunglass one is really cute especially since we have some background water pictures from Door County.

We really like this one too but there’s all kinds of summer type ones to do.  You just have to find a picture that fits and click away.  Photo Lab.  It is fun; give it a try. ~ Indy and Lucy

4th of July #240

Last night we had Nature’s fireworks.  A huge thunderstorm rolled though with lots of thunder and lightning.  Dad looked at our rain gauge this am and it had 3.25 inches in it.  He had hooked the new rain barrel up yesterday so it was filled right up.  Word is we’re having the All-American hot dog today.  Can’t wait.  Happy 4th of July. ~ Indy and Lucy #feelingthefourth #happybirthdayamerica #twohundredandforty #happyfourthofjuly #

Week in Review

Our hearts have been heavy this week with the crossing of Mr. Silky over the Rainbow Bridge.  He was definitely a legend in his time.  We are missing him terribly.

While not a quality picture, you can see how much I resemble my dad when he was THE studmaster at Shady Nook. 🙂  Meanwhile, lots of garden stuff going on too.

Scottie garden stone by Larry Lauber

Finally found the perfect spot for the garden stone Larry Lauber made us.  Isn’t it fantastic?  Lantanas are thriving in this hot weather; it is supposed to hit the 100s Fahrenheit this coming week.

For us, it is a holiday weekend: 4th of July, marking the birth of American Independence.  Although we are no longer part of the British Empire, Mom loves everything about it.  She is a true Anglophile…just take a look at her Pinterest boards.  It is a lovely holiday though if you don’t count the firecrackers. Tribute to Mr. Silky

Mr. Silky was the top ‘man about the kennel’ at Shady Nook Scotties for many years.  He had since retired and was living ‘the life’ with Pauline and Barbara Stucker  in Kentucky.  Silky was Championed-bred and had 48 Champions in his 5 generation pedigree.  Most of all, he was my Dad.

Mr. Silky

Sadly, Silky lost that life yesterday to lymphoma.  Godspeed, Dad. ~ Your boy, Indy
