Last week’s rain encouraged the flowering of more ornamental trees like the redbud which happens to be one of Oklahoma’s state symbols, chosen as the state tree in 1937. It grows well in Oklahoma gardens and parks. This one is across the street from our house.
The warm temps allowed us to play some fetch and run around our yard a lot.
Light winds caused to petals of the Bradford pear tree to fall like snow.

inNothing much has been happening this week except rain, rain and more rain. Sister helped a bit in the yard before the skies opened up.
Mom rotated the toys this week. She does that periodically. We are not very rough with ours so with the exception of a few rubber ones and an occasional squeaker, toys remain intact. It’s like we have an endless supply of new toys. Rainy weeks are good for this. Rotation has to be done when Sister is not here. Well, you know how she is with toys. I helped supervise the rotation. Mom let me pick my favorite.
Sister was so glad to see one of her faves back again: Diet Poopsie. It’s not one of Mom’s favorites because it is just the right size to roll under a chair. You know what happens next.
Yes, the little diva barks until Mom gets it.
Regardless, when in doubt, rotate. ~ Indy

inIf you haven’t tuned in, this is what happened this week. Last weekend we gathered with other Scottie and Westie friends in Tulsa, OK. (that’s about 45 miles from us). Brother had a fabulous time and loved seeing other dogs and peeps. You’d have to know him for awhile before you could get a pet though. My behavior was less than stellar. I love peeps but it’s a no to the dogs.
We had a leap day.
I helped in the yard. Dad finished another section of fence.
The flowers are blooming, trees are budding, birds are singing. Hope it’s good in your neighborhood. ~ Lucy

Springtime, indeed! Our Bradford Pear tree is in full bloom. The pine tree is serving as a rookery to birds that stay in Oklahoma year round. Already it has a nest of blue jays, one of robins, and another of mourning doves. There’s also a bird house full of sparrows which hangs from one of the lower branches.
Next week we will be switching to Daylight Savings time. Mom likes it in the mornings especially because it will be light when we go out. She keeps a flashlight by the door because we are so hard to see in the dark.
Have a fab weekend and remember…….

Picture this: March 2012, our first St. Paddy’s.
Brother was a fuzzy little pup on our first St. Patrick’s.
Indiana 15 weeks
It was an early spring that year too. Bradford pear was already in bloom like it is today. It was the beginning of my modeling career and I’ve never turned back.
A few years later, we are still celebrating the green. ~ Indy and Lucy

The cultural and religious celebration held on March 17 commemorates St. Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland as well as the heritage of the Irish people in general. Celebrations include parades, turning rivers green, wearing green clothing, shamrocks (St. Patrick is supposed to have used the 3 leaved shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the people of Ireland.) and the consumption of green beverages.
Personally, I love shamrocks.
Green is a delightful color and is associated with nature, growth, renewal, energy and most recently, the preserving of our planet ecologically. What could be more important than that? So wear your green with pride. ~ Lucy
