Last week’s rain encouraged the flowering of more ornamental trees like the redbud which happens to be one of Oklahoma’s state symbols, chosen as the state tree in 1937. It grows well in Oklahoma gardens and parks. This one is across the street from our house.
The warm temps allowed us to play some fetch and run around our yard a lot.
Light winds caused to petals of the Bradford pear tree to fall like snow.

We were worried when we saw the news about the flooding in OK. Was that very far from where you live?
The tree is just magnificent! I never heard of a redbud, but it looks like the Japanese Maple that we have here. My only sign of spring has been a crocus or two. Glad to see Indy and Lucy enjoy being out and about! 🌄

Lots of redbuds in OK, Texas, and Kansas. Obviously do well in poor soil. It rained a bunch but no flooding here.

Indy and Lucy – Mama says this day is “MAH-vuhlussss”. It is very warm – unusual for March. The forsythias are in bloom, the daffodils are up and the greening grass is high enough for an Easter egg hunt. Would you care to come along?? Love, Ms. Judy, Ellie, Andy and your Sister in Scottiehood, Lulu Belle.
PS – Mama fussed strongly at me last night as I went after brother with a vengeance after he took my rawhide stick. He did not have it, but I could not find it and I was angrily convinced he knew where it was. Mama told us her heart beat very hard. And get this!? She put a fat sofa pillow between brother and me and hollered “LULU, NO, NO NO” Mama has never hollered at me. I thought she wanted to have fun so I jumped on the sofa with baby sister and smiled at Mama. She looks tired today. Over-and-Out xxooo LB

Oh no, Lulu Belle. I hear it all the time. Try to be good and don’t stress your Mom.

We woke this weekend and Spring had snuck in, with all the bells & whistles…..but here in NC, as usual, we will have our pre-Easter freeze. It’s coming Saturday, but for now, we are enjoying the 80’s, and trying to avoid the pollen. Your yard is beautiful!

Cold front coming Fri. Might nip things in the bud, so to speak.

I love this time of year everything returns to new again and lots of walkies. On the downside, we visit the storm cellar more often than I care to do.
Aroo to you,

We have Redbud trees in Ohio & I love them. I had lots of Freesia blooming but we had 2 days of heavy rain here in southern California – will wonders never cease – the beautiful blooms got beaten & broken down.

Are these pics of Lucy or Indy, or both? I can’t tell them apart when they are not together in the pic. Anyway, I also thought of “Tip-toe through the Tulips” as a caption for the picture showing one of the Kids levitating over the Pear Tree blossoms on the ground–even though they are not “Tulips” —that just popped into my head!
The pictures sure are cute! The orange ball or toy sure is a pretty contrast with the kids’ jet black color—-Gorgeous! They look like they are so playful and full of mischief!!
So ADORABLE!
The Redbud tree is really pretty! Love blossoming trees! OK must be lovely with all of those trees blooming! Thank you for the beautiful pictures!

You’re all talking about Spring and trees in bud and green grass shooting through. Down here in South Africa we are just glad that we are having cooler days. This last summer was a killer with no rain either. Gorgeous rains this last week. Gentle rain started falling here again just now and I believe will continue through until Friday. Luv-er-ly stuff. Temperatures about 28-30C, totally manageable. Next two and a half months glorious autumn weather. Enjoy your Spring.

It can get very dry in Oklahoma esp during the summer. Autumn is a wonderful time of year.
