A lone bunny was out this morning. When he turned to the side, he looked just like that chocolate bunny you see at Easter. The temperature was already 72 and the mosquitoes were buzzing; it’s going to be hot today. However, something of more interest caught my eye.
Well, hello, Mr. Flying Squirrel. Just back from his nocturnal adventures, I guess he was turning in for the day. I hope he stays around because he sure is cute…for squirrel. ~ Lucy
Oh, Lucy – he IS cute and, as you say, “for squirrel”. One day when I was a very young girl, I caught such a squirrel. He was SO soft and SO small but my dad said “PUT HIM DOWN!! They carry rabies”. I let him go……..but, in your case, I do not think that would happen. BTW, the baby rabbit was gone last night. Sad.

It probably hopped back to the nest to see its mama.

There are NO cute squirrels. They are part of the rodent family, same as rats. Scotties are to kill rodents. So get that squirrel out of your yard.

PawPaw loved flying squirrels. One got into their bedroom when Noah had guard duty. Mama said it smiled at her, and it was the sweetest smile. Then Mama had a chimney guard installed. PawPaw reluctantly caught Bucky (he had named it), and set him outside.

We wish that the temperature in the morning was 72. We have been starting off in the 80’s and it get hotter quickly. The only time that Shelby and Sidney seem to have a bit of energy is when they see a squirrel on our morning walk.

It is 91 now; it’s supposed to be a high of 96 which is way too high for June.

I agree with Bentley a squirrel is nothing more than a tree rat even if it can fly.
Aroo to you,

I’m sure I would if I had the chance but I have a pretty early bedtime so I am not usually out when it is unless it’s dawn.
