Special effect techniques have been around since the early 1900s. “Star Wars” dramatically increased the use of them. Now CGI (computer generated imagery) has come to the forefront in films like “Toy Story” and “Jurassic Park.” Main event companies provide lasers, light shows, pyrotechnics and are multi million dollar businesses. With every new smart phone, there is a camera improvement. Photography apps are updated daily. Why are special effects popular? They are magical.
While phone apps will not replace a DSLR camera and top line photo editor, they are, nonetheless, so much fun. You can edit, add filters, text, make a collage or create any number of effects.
These are all done with a photo app for IPhone called Mobile Monet.
Same image different app. See how much fun. Enough, Mom. You need to quit this and pay attention to us. 🙂 ~ Indy and Lucy
Your Mama is so clever! Plus, she has a Windows phone….how sorry is that? You’d think she be far more clever.

What’s a “Windows” phone? At our house we only say telephone. Mama doesn’t even have a cell….hmmm…..or is it “sell”……phone. Anyhow, she goes on and on about your Mama’s talents. We think she’s great, too! XXXOOOOLulu, Andy, and Ellie

Princess Lucy – Does this mean your mom and dad are King and Queen? Anyhow, my mama says she sort of understands the phone thingy. Have a grand day. XXOO Lulu (PS – Mama says I cannot be called a princess because there are 2 girls in our house and each cannot be a princess…..but, between you and me, I think my brother believes he is royalty!) The pictures are beautiful. Many, many years ago people actually used phones to make phone calls to other people. My daughter told me that I am the only person that actually calls her on the phone and the only one that she calls. It is sad.

To this day, I engage in said practice. But then I am now in the “older generation”…..the dying breed who utilizes the technology of years gone by……Ms. Judy

Mom still gets calls on the real phone but she swears every month she is going to get rid of it.

You lose your bundling option with AT&T if you get rid of the phone. My kids convinced me to get a cell and I always forget to charge it or carry it around with me. I have used about 30 minutes in the last 4 months.

Good to know. Mom was that way till the smart phone came out. She uses it as a computer more than a phone.
