A Scottish kilt has a tartan pattern associated with Scottish clans and families. Many families can be traced back as far as the 16th century. Now tartans can represent not only families but districts, regiments, corporations, and universal ones. Absolutely anyone can wear a universal tartan. I am wearing the Stewart tartan. I hope it still fits this year. I might have put on a little weight. 🙂
Brother, slim as ever, wears the Black Watch pattern adopted by many regiments. His only problem is that he hates anything to touch his tail so he wears it a little short. Our favorite kilts are these made by our good friend, Colleen Lambretcht, mom of MacDuff and Roosevelt. We will be wearing them in the parade this year. ~ Lucy
Beautiful kilts for beautiful Scotties–thanks for the history lesson on kilts!

Fashionistas, UNITE! Parade your stuff – sometimes Mama says “Flaunt it, Baby – you’re the only one who can!”. (She gets giddy now and then…). Lulu Belle

I love tartans. My very favorite tartan is the Dress Stewart. Did you know the State of California has its own tartan. It is very pretty and you can see it by going to the above site.

Your tartan plaids are beautiful and the two of you look smashing in them. The parade would have to be very short for mine to participate.

You would probably be surprised. Mom didn’t know if we could either but we fell right in with the pack.
