As April neared, her ears had slightly raised but I still had 7 pounds on her. There was also a big difference in the shape of our bodies. I was long-legged and lean while Lucy was the opposite. Due to her short legs, she hadn’t learned to maneuver the front steps yet nor could she jump up on things. The bed was my sanctuary. ~ Indy

Hey, the legs are always short. Even with your “long” legs Indy, they still be short. Hence “walking broom”, “dust mops” and like insulting descriptions of us. But same thing in our house. Fergus first, long legs, then little wee Guinness, short legs, gets picked up, etc. It will get easier Indy living with a princess, honest it will. hehehe

Sidney and Shelby enjoyed the sanctuary of the couch for a few months and then Sophie learned how to jump. Their world came to a screeching halt.

Sister will never make the bed and Mom refuses to get her steps.

Sophie hasn’t been allowed into the bedroom. We don’t know if she ever will be allowed. We sleep quietly and Sophie can’t seem to stay still for more than a minute. We will see.

Did she use her short little body to “sumo” you? Is that why you needed a sanctuary?

That and her sharp little teeth.

Our bed served as Rory’s playpen for a while–until he was able to jump down by himself. ❤️
