There was this little bunny who has been around our yard since spring. There were originally two that Mom knows of but the other was earlier dispatched. Therefore Mom was overprotective of this one. The yard was always cleared before we went out especially since the bunny had decided to live under our front porch. In my defense, I will say that the bunny did crazy things all summer long. It would zoom across the yard even when we were out there. It would run from its protected area under the porch to outside the fence. Keep in mind that we have a larger fenced back yard where the bun could have lived. We seldom go back there. But noooooo.
So Tuesday evening, Dad ran bunny out from under the porch. If bunny was not removed, I have a tendency to bark instead of doing my business and Mom was convinced the barking made bunny do crazy stuff. Anyway Bunny ran back in one time too many. 😦
Bunny is now hopping along the bunny trail.

Ruh Roh, bunny was one carrot shy of a bunch to come back. Good riddance! Hopefully it was quick. RIP, Bunny.

Indy…..I know your predicament and that of your mama. Do bunnies have a rainbow bridge? Same track, different train – Guess what!? I got 2 moles in one week. My entire family is over-the-moon about it. (Usually I get one per year.) Kisses to you and your mama. XxOo Lulu Belle

We have at least 3 bunny nests in our back yard. The peeps won’t let the dogs do anything about it. The peeps even put out a bunny water dish in the summer. The dogs are very mad about this.

We had a nest last year and Mom put a fence around it. This bunny was just out of the nest( we don’t know where it was) in May while we were gone. 😦

My Peep is big on bunnies! She’s had quite a few bunny pets over the years. Loves them like crazy! She also collects rabbits and bunny figurines and, of course, Scotties! So she is very pleased to learn your Peep takes care of the bunny in your yard!

I occasionally bunny sit for one of my neighbors. She found her bunny under a bush over two years ago and it is still living in her back yard. I enjoy getting to watch him when they are away. My guys have never seen a bunny.

My two met me at the door, with a full sized rabbit resting between them. They were quite proud. I requested my husband immediately place the rabbit out of further danger, as if it mattered at that point. Scotties and bunnies….not a good combo.

Sorry Trisha. They are only doing what they were bred to do. I’m glad that I didn’t see it…

My Peep, a grownup, mind you, doesn’t always get the ‘survival of the fittest’ thing. She loves rabbits and bunnies and their gentle nature and is sad to hear about this, but knows that sometimes these things happen. We hope the bunny was able to be put somewhere to ‘rest’ in a proper place out of harms way.

OK here is our story. We were young, about 1 or 2 and Missy was 7 o 8. Mom had us out in the black night using a flashlight that was fast losing its battery power. We ran a rabbit to the back forty as Mom calls it. It is the area where Dad raises tomato plants in the summer and stores his huge 6′ tall tomato cages. Mom was running and trying to get us back inside but we had other ideas. She couldn’t see with that flashlight so she scurried back inside and got Dad and another light. When they got to where we were, we were all three sitting fat and happy right in the yard. Perplexed Mom went looking to see where bunny had gone. He was inside one of the wire cages where we couldn’t get but dead as a doorknob and hair all around. No blood though and Mom and Dad think we scared him to death. That’s our story and we are proud of it! Whew, out of breath talking about it and remembering…….

Mom knew all that blasted barking was sending Bunny over the edge.

Mom wants to know if you had a good tomato crop this year. Oklahoma had the worst in her whole life, she said. Too much rain.
