Chasing Bubbles

The summer afternoons are so hot that we use the mornings for our playtime.  Our friend, Bethany was Chief Bubble Dispenser with Mom at the camera as always.

It was a great game.

Angus Fala Worldwide Communique

Mom was delighted when a box arrived from Angus Fala Worldwide.  In the  letter enclosed, CEO, Ainsley McKenna, noted that on our last visit to Peru, we neglected to stop by the Angus Manor Concession Stand for some T-shirts commemorating the event.  To make up for our oversight, she sent us some.

We love them.  Thanks to Aunt Judy for the fashion recommendation…perfect.  We also appreciate the endorsement of Lily the Cat.  Best idea ever. ~ Indy and Lucy

Summer in Oklahoma

image

The rain is gone for now so July temps soar.

image

Now add in the heat index and the humidity…a furnace blast when the door is opened.

image

This is a perfect way to spend hot afternoons. Mom told Dad we need to move to a “more acceptable climate”….or something like that.  Oops, she called us story-telling Scotties.  Keep cool! ~ Indy and Lucy

House Happenings

Mom finally found the right little pictures for the bookends Sissy got us for Christmas.  Heads and tails, she’s so clever.

She also put a summer outfit on the door faux.  Aloha, Faux!

Something else is going on too.  What is this?

Stay tuned. ~ Indy and Lucy

Cat B Gone

Unfortunately, we have several outdoor cats in our neighborhood that have decided Mom’s flower beds are their toilet.  We cannot express how unhappy she is about this or repeat what words she has said concerning the cats but she has declared war.  Her first attack was unsuccessful.  She drove chopsticks every few inches in each bed thinking that “kitty” would be offended. No such luck.

image

She had Dad install one of these today.  It has good reviews. She is ready with other possible solutions in case it doesn’t work.

image

Cats are reported to be offended by citrus so this oil can be sprayed on the mulch.  Additionally, she thought mesh covering might work too.  She has yet to hook up a motion detector to the hose but it’s coming.  Anyone have any other ideas?  Thanks. ~ Indy and Lucy

Yard Art

The hibiscus are flowering nicely.  Great plant for Oklahoma summers.  They always remind Mom of the islands.

The peace pole is new this year.  Mom brought it back from Door County.  See why we had to get a bigger car.

image

Our Wheaten Scottie arrived from Legends.  Mom is deciding on permanent placement.

It is metal but on a wood base so protected area is important.  The rain has finally stopped; the gauge showed 7 inches.  Temps will be warming up next week.  Officially, summer is here.  Have a great weekend. ~ Indy and Lucy

Raindrops Keep Fallin on my Head

image

This is Mom’s new rain app called Rain Aware.  She loves it.  She says things like: “Ok, Dad, you can go feed the horses.  The rain will stop at 1:32.”  or “No kids, it will be raining for the next three hours.”

image

She was not kidding about the rain.  It rained non stop Tuesday, almost 6 inches by Wednesday morning.  It was raining when we went to bed and raining when we got up so this is what we did.

Love ya. ~ Indy and Lucy
