Unfortunately, we have several outdoor cats in our neighborhood that have decided Mom’s flower beds are their toilet. We cannot express how unhappy she is about this or repeat what words she has said concerning the cats but she has declared war. Her first attack was unsuccessful. She drove chopsticks every few inches in each bed thinking that “kitty” would be offended. No such luck.
She had Dad install one of these today. It has good reviews. She is ready with other possible solutions in case it doesn’t work.
Cats are reported to be offended by citrus so this oil can be sprayed on the mulch. Additionally, she thought mesh covering might work too. She has yet to hook up a motion detector to the hose but it’s coming. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks. ~ Indy and Lucy
Feral cats are spraying a stone wall on the garage side of our house. Mama is seriously aggravated, but she’s not sure about what to do. The Deer have eaten her Hostas. The better not eat the Sweet Peas shoot from Gramma’s garden. She has it someone fenced around.

Red pepper! We had a feral cat using the space next to our door as his litter box. We sprinkled ground red pepper there, and he stopped!

Mama says I would be great “cat-riddance” but the hitch is I’d keep on going and going and going. So sorry for your troubles. Mama says what they leave stinks to the highest heavens. Paws crossed for you, Lulu Belle

How about posting a help wanted sign? My experience has been that cats hate working.

There is a lemon tree within 6 feet of the open window where Sophie cat sits most of the day and there are lots of lemons on the ground, so I doubt citrus would work, plus a small bottle of oil is so expensive .. there are 3 cats who are constantly on the patio teasing Sophie. I’ll be anxious to see if the red pepper works. How will you keep the pups from sniffing it?

It’s in an outer area of the yard, beyond the fence.

Try using coyote urine. Available at hardware and home and garden stores
