Sometimes our Sissy’s job as a nurse and the fact that she lives in Colorado don’t allow us to have holidays on the exact day that they happen. We have become accustomed over the years and just take them when they come. We had Christmas last weekend, for example. We also had it in Amarillo, Texas which is a halfway driving point for both of us.
Here we are loaded up in our car seats and seatbelts. They make us safe as a child buckled in….wait, that’s what we are.
Mom taking a break from reading
We stayed at the Drury, a super pet friendly hotel. We were on our best behavior and wowed everyone. Sister did growl at the English Mastiff and Lassie dog but the poodle, yorkies, corgi, basset, westie, lab, boxer, shih Tzu, and some we didn’t know their breed were all treated respectfully. Mom was glad we didn’t see the ferrets.
Of course, seeing Sissy was the best part.
We watched the parking lot while they went out to eat.
Mom and Sissy did some shopping too. Some boys asked to have their pictures made with us.
We had the best time. We decided that we will do the 1/2 way thing more often. We might go north next time; halfway would be Wichita, Kansas. Thanks for spending Christmas with us.
Homeward bound, we are good travelers. ~ Indy and Lucy
Beautiful pictures. Sissy is so grown up and pretty. Looks like her grandmother.

Great pics–it is sometimes nice to celebrate multiple times–it extends the Christmas season–now you can look forward to what Santa is going to bring 2 good little dogs–only 1 more night and he will be here!!! Merry Christmas!

It’s a good choice if available where you are going. We also stay at LaQuinta. There’s many more of them but if we stay any length of time we use VRBO.

The only holiday that we celebrate on the actual day is Thanksgiving. When you have grown children, you have to accommodate their schedules if you want to celebrate. That is fine with me.
