The Barn Hunt was a star event for the second year, thanks to Pam Straus and Starr Photography. I love it and Mom let me do it twice. From then on, I wanted to go play where the rats were. Totally humane, not to worry, although my intentions could have been otherwise.
Focus is my name; rats are my game.
I was first introduced to the rat in a wire box. It was transferred to a tube and hidden. I was then allowed to look for it. The rat handlers said I was a natural.
Sister has not been interested in this so far but I love it. It’s a great dog exercise. Happy Hunting. ~ Indy
The peep is glad we didn’t see a close up picture of the rat – she gets squeamish at seeing mice & rats! I think rat hunting is more of a guy thing – Lucy is a real girlie-girl, which is o.k.!
We admire your focus, Indy, it’s really important for the hunt!

The rat looked friendly in a rat sort of way.

I could make a crack about “it takes one to know one” or “rats of a feather flock together” but I’ll restrain myself for your sake.

There is no such thing as a friendly rat… there are Scotties…and there are rats…and if the two should ever meet, well, we all know the inevitable outcome. Scotties are meant to keep the rat population in check. The city of Chicago could do with a herd of Scotties…
