The day started out ok. It was cloudy with occasional sprinkles.
We were equipped, just in case.
I showed Mom my new trick that Brother taught me. This smaller Jolly ball was perfect for my short legs.
Of course, we had to play a little fetch. Then……
the storms came. It wasn’t too bad but bad enough that we had to ride it out on Mom’s lap. The tornadic storms came yesterday evening but they were north of us. Tornadoes touched down close to where our cousins live ; no one was hurt. You don’t mess with tornadoes here in Oklahoma. Take cover does not mean standing on the porch looking at the sky. I hope no one in your area lost his home or was hurt as the tornadoes came to you … mom’s lap is a good place for a storm… or the wardrobe… to eat a sock or some underwear is good when you are nervous…

We know the distress of the warning siren for those twisty things in the sky. Mom shoos us to the basement and does not even go upstairs to look until it’s all clear. We hope no one you know was injured and all is now OK.

So beautiful in red!! We lived briefly in Colorado Springs and the first time we heard the tornado siren, we had no idea what it was, so we went out on the front porch to see what was going on! We learned, though, and became familiar with the basement laundry room. That was BS (before Scotties), so we had no one to keep us company,

We have a basement that is used for storage so we can go down there.

McDuff has the same raincoat in yellow, Lucy, and I have a yellow slicker, too. When we both walk into the vet’s wearing them, we are a big hit!

Oh my word. Thank goodness we don’t get those around here. Hear about them now and again but thankfully not near here. No basement we could run to any way.

You’re right about tornadoes in OK! We lived in Austin and San Antonio TX, and we used to go to OK to visit friends and we know OK is known for doozies! We’re glad you are all OK!
Your raincoats are soooo cute, Indy and Lucy! I’m starting to feel a swoon coming on! Your trick is so picture perfect, and you are so, SO smart to PERFORM for us in your bright red raincoat that sets off the blue ball so well, Lucy! Indy sure is a good teacher and you, Lucy are such a performing DIVA!! Congrats to your Mum for having captured the moment! It is a Pawrfect picture! You two have got to be the best-dressed Scotties in the Universe! Your Mum has such impeccable taste! What darlings you are, Indy and Lucy!! EVERYTHING looks so darn cute on you two sweetie Scotties!

The bandanas go back when we were pups. We used to calm down when Mom put them on so when we would act up she would say: Do you want to wear the scarf” and we would stop what we were doing so……..we hate them now. Who knew?

Sophie experienced her first violent clap of thunder and lightning on a walk this week. It was not a pretty sight. All of them hate their raincoats and refuse to walk in them. With all of the wet weather, this has been a difficult Scottie walking week. Stay safe friends.

Hello there, this is Lucy from South Africa. Mamma showed your pictures and I think you are pawsitively the last word in fashion Lucy! Haggis likes the blue ball (he is a boy, what does he know about fashion?). Mamma had to put my favourite ball in the recycling this week because somebuddy bit a great hole in it. We don’t have twisters here often, mamma can only remember one happening in her home town about 17 years ago. So you must stay close to your peeps in times of danger.
