Yes, we barked too soon when we said Mom was finished with her projects. While looking for something in the basement, she discovered this estate sale shelf her cousin had given her.
Mom said it needs a new purpose and we said she needs to change the calendar month. BOL
The little drawer that flips down is cute too or does it go like this?
This way the drawer lifts up. Maybe the drawer is the top and not the bottom. It’s going to be fun. What do you think? Which way should it hang? ~ Indy and Lucy

We are thinking top photo is better with drawer opening down than bottom photo with drawer opening up. Did you get that? 🙂

We think the 1st picture with the drawer on the bottom looks right. It just seems too top heavy to have the drawer on the top.
Also, consider what the drawer pull looks like in both pictures. The ring doesn’t look right hanging down over the space between the shelf and the drawer. It would have been centered on the drawer if it were meant to hang that way.

Mom had to go look at it again. You are right. It is just that the frame on the sides look awkward to her when it is that way.

Squirrel condo. They also remodeled a birdhouse for visitors. The flying ones prefer that one.

Mama and I like the last photo, with the drawer on top. To us, it just looks right….but we love hearing everypawdy & Kismet’s thoughts. Love the color ! And yippee, more storage/display space!

There is something intriguing about having it with the drawer on top. Perhaps it is the way trinkets and knick~knack would look so nice on the top of the drawer rather than on the little shelf. Typically, I go light or narrow on top and heavier and wider on the bottom. I think this one calls for just the opposite.
